A GEORGE II MAHOGANY CHEST-ON-CHEST

The rectangular hinged top enclosing a fitted mahogany-lined compartment, above three graduated drawers, the two upper drawers with divisions, the lower section with four graduated drawers, the upper drawer of base previously with divisions, the second drawer with a singe divide and previously with two further divisions, some of the handles later, on later bracket feet, both upper and lower sections with brass carrying handles on each side, the drawer handles later, the top section with a paper depository label to the reverse for Frederick Winwood Ltd., Lowesmoor, Worcester, stamped MAJOR A.C.J. CONGREVE, TENBURY WELLS' inscribed in ink '92', and another chalk inscription CHINESE ROOM
