With c8 blank (lacks part 2, 76 leaves, and BB2-4, the latter 3 leaves probably censored by the Inquisition, text on V3r and BB1v censored, quires BB and HH misbound, top margins cut quite close, a little waterstaining). 18th-century half sheep (a little rubbed). Provenance: Father Pedro de Cascales of Toledo, 1584 (inscription at foot of title recording that he has censored the book on the orders of the Inquisition) - Boston University Libraries (small circular bookplate, deaccession letter provided). First edition with Gesualdo's commentary. Adams P801.
