Lot Essay

Born in Louiseville, and a graduate of Yale, Henry Koehler's vibrant images of horses, dogs, racing colours and riding have made him recognised as one of the world's finest living sporting artists.

First exhibiting in 1961 at the County Art Gallery, Long Island, he has held one or more shows a year since, both nationally and internationally, at venues ranging from San Francisco, Dublin and Johannesburg to London and Capri.
