TWO OLD BABYLONIAN TERRACOTTA CUNEIFORM TABLETS
CIRCA 1725 B.C. AND CIRCA 1630 B.C.
Both inscribed in Babylonian cuneiform, one from the reign of Samsu-Iluna, year 25, circa 1725 B.C., with fourteen lines recording a quantity of dates produced in a palm grove in one season, a seal rolled over the reverse and edges with the sun god Shamash standing to the right with one leg projecting from his long robe, a standing worshipper before him, a Lamma goddess behind the worshipper, the seal inscription now unreadable; and one from the reign of Ammi-Saduqa, year 17, circa 1630 B.C., with seventeen lines, a legal record of a loan of silver, three lines along the bottom edge undeciphered, seals for the debtor and mayor rolled along the edge and side
