A SOUTH ARABIAN ALABASTER STELE
CIRCA 2ND CENTURY B.C.
Carved in high relief with a woman standing on a small rectangular plinth, her hands together at her waist, wearing a long tunic with rounded cuffs, her face with large almond-shaped eyes, the pupils articulated, the grooved eyebrows tapering, with a triangular nose and small mouth, drilled for attachment of separately-made and now-missing ornaments on either side of the ankles, wrists and earlobes, perforated on either side of the neck
