Each mythical beast finely cast seated on its haunches, the head and powerful body covered down the back with a tightly curled mane, their faces with fierce expressions, mouth agape bearing their teeth below bulging eyes and bushy eyebrows, a central bell and tassle suspended from a ribbon incised with a bat design around the broad chest, the male with right leg raised with his paw on a brocade ball, the female with left paw surpressing a lively cub, both richly gilded with blue pigment remaining to their manes
