MING DYNASTY, 16TH CENTURY

The circular box with deep, slightly inturned sides enamelled with a continuous lotus scroll growing leaves and buds, below a flattened flange with classic scrolls, the upright mouthrim with a triangular wave band interrupted by an apocryphal Jingtai mark, the base with a gilded countersunk disc, the cover similarly decorated with lotus scrolls on the slightly domed cover and tapered sides
