George Frederic Watts, O.M., R.A. (1817-1904)

Watts embarked on a series of large-scale mural projects whilst in Italy in the mid 1840s and following his return to London in the early 1850s. This oil sketch, previously identified as The Court of Death, appears to be a sketch for a mural project which was never completed.
