A gold and enamel double-locket
marked with Cyrillic initials VG. probably for W[ilhelm] Gabiu, Moscow, 1908-1917
Shaped circular, with enamelled coats-of-arms of six cities around the lower section of a central green guilloché enamel plaque inscribed in Russian, the upper section with pale blue translucent enamel over and engraving of a bust of Mercury holding a caduceus, the reverse with bead and foliate chased frame around a white enamel circular band with a Russian dedication to 'N.E. Permiakov 1870-1911', the centre with a blue guilloché enamel plaque with applied gold figure 'XXXV', hinged at one side, with reeded suspension loop, marked on loop
1 5/8 in. (4.1 cm.) high
