FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Bond on the half-title page: "To the Budgetts from PADINGTON and Michael Bond." Arriving at Paddington Station from darkest Peru with a label around his neck reading: "Please look after this bear. Thank you," Paddington Bear is taken in by the Brown family and many adventures ensue.
