A SWISS CRANEQUIN FOR A MILITARY CROSSBOW
Dated 1535
Of characteristic construction, the shank engraved with the date behind the claws, solid gear-case, the top retained by pinned staples and struck with a brass-lined cockerel mark (Neue Støckel 7572), and the base with iron hooks for corresponding lugs on the bow (belt hook missing).
