Lot Essay

Karin Jonzen was born in London to Swedish parents. She studied at the Slade School of Fine Art between 1933-1937 and the City & Guilds School at Kennington in 1938. Jonzen worked predominantly in terracotta and bronze and strove to create works which engaged the viewer. In 1938, she went to Sweden to study at the Royal Academy, Stockholm.
