Rectangular, with urn-shaped brass inset handles, opening to reveal an extensivly fitted interior, fitments including: eight silver-topped clear glass bottles, a silver funnel and an eye-bath, a steel sewing clamp, an ivory desk seal, four ivory reels, and a small circular box; two lift-out trays containing two needlecases, a thimble, scissors, a bodkin, a toothbrush, a tape measure, a stilleto, two knives, a tambour hook and several other Palais Royal ivory and silver fittings, many pieces with applied enamel pansy motif, some with enamel sunburst motif, also containing a porcelain cup and saucer -- length of box 13¾ in. (35 cm.)
