A PAIR OF GEORGE II IRISH CAST SILVER CANDLESTICKS,
MARK OF MICHAEL FOWLER, DUBLIN, CIRCA 1752/54,
Fluted baluster columns with stepped square bases, the latter with shell corners & additional shells to sides, bases engraved on top with crest & baron's coronet, marked to edge of bases with Hibernia, crowned harp & maker's mark, one lacking crowned harp to base but both with crowned harp to capitals, the detachable nozzles inscribed underneath with initials "D.D", one nozzle with all three marks, the other unmarked, numbered "1" & "3", 10 5/8 in. high (27 cm.), 49.5 oz. (2)
