Lot Essay

In many of Carasso's small sculptures the female, mostly floating above their base, is the main subject. Like the present lot, these figures are veiled, striding forth, wrapped in long robes. Their blending shapes and the delicatley finished surface remind us of the the work of Henri Moore.
