A MEISSEN GROUP EMBLEMATIC OF PAINTING AND SCULPTURE

Modelled by J.J. Kändler, with two putti, one standing naked and sculpting a bust of a woman with a chissel and mallet, the other seated, loosely draped with a yellow-lined gilt-edged robe and holding a palette and brushes, on a shaped circular rockwork base applied with flowers and foliage and edged with gilt-edged moulded scrolls (small repairs to brushes and standing putto's left toes, crack to rocks adjacent to standing putto secured, one brush partially lacking, slight chipping to underside edge of base, slight sanding to surface)
