A fine and detailed 4in. scale model of the Burrell two cylinder double crank coumpound, two speed, three shaft crane engine "William",
with brazed copper boiler with fittings including water and pressure gauges, safety, blower, injector, siren, water lift, clack and blowdown valves. Engine details include cylinders approx. 1½in. and 2¾in. bores x 3½in. stroke, mechanical lubricator, bar-type crosshead guides, Stephenson's link reverse, pickering governor, eccentric driven feed pump and bypass, two roadspeeds mounted outside the horn plates, counterbalanced crankshaft and disc flywheel with skew gear drive to crane winch. Chassis details include spoked wheels with rubber tyres, worm and roller chain steering, belly tank, winch drum, cable and fairleads, injector, water lift, tool boxes, hand operated brake gear, bucket and shovel, finished in brown with red and yellow lining. Measurement overall -- 117 x 233.5cm. (46 x 92in.)
