A VERY RARE MONHEGAN ISLAND STYLE EIDER
Gus Wilson (1864-1950), South Portland, Maine, circa 1900
In an unusual pose featuring an open mouth with mussel. Inlet head, relief wing carving and carved eyes.
Old inuse repaint. Small cracks and dents. In lieu of a leather tie strap a small rectangular piece of hardwood has been inset and nailed into the underside with a hole drilled in the front to run the decoy line through.
