Lot Essay

Born in Darmstadt in January 1823, Paul Weber was a painter of landscapes, animals and genre subjects. He is recorded as having travelled to the Orient in 1846, and exhibited in Vienna in 1868. In 1871 he settled in Munich where he remained for the rest of his life.
