An important 19th century scrimshaw whales tooth
[unsigned], decorated and polychromed on both sides, the front engraved with a whaling scene showing a pair of American whaling ships, one cutting in, and a pair of whale boats chasing another whale. The back showing four vignettes of a pair of naval ships in close action, one American the other British.
