A 20th century Terrestrial Library Globe on a Mahogany Stand
After Merzbac & Falk, Brussels
a reproduction globe, made up of twelve printed gores, the equatorial graduated in degrees, hours and minutes, Antarctica with coastline, the continents outlined and shaded showing rivers, mountains, deserts, towns and cities. The mahogany horizon with printed and varnished paper circle showing days of the month and days of the houses of the Zodiac, raised on four curved quadrant supports to a baluster turned column with three inswept legs, the glazed compass box held on cross-stretchers between, all in mahogany, with blued-steel needle and printed card with wind rose.
