Lot Essay

An illustrator, landscape and figure painter, Fitchew lived at Bromley, Kent. Between 1911-15 she excecuted large and elaborate watercolours of Shakespearean and legendary subjects, demonstrating the highly worked details that are exemplified in the present watercolour.
