The saya lacquered nashiji and decorated with paulownia crests in gold hiramaki-e and mounted with matching Mino fittings comprising a saya-jiri, semegane, mokko tsuba, fuchi-kashira, menuki and kabuto-jiri, the hangers blue doe skin and mounted with matching hardware, the fittings all designed with gold taka-zogan hoshi (star) crests against a very tight shakudo nanako ground, the edges all gold
