A Burmese domed ivory figure of Buddha, 19th century
seated in vajrasana on a raised circular lotus stand, his right hand in bhumisparsha mudra and his left in avakasha mudra, wearing samghati, the face with a serene expression, the headdress with an usnisa, within a pierced domed cover, carved with foliate scrolls growing from stems, above a lappet border on the ridged and raised cylindrical base -- 4 7/8in. (12.3cm.) high.
