A Chinese cinnabar lacquer jardiniere, Qianlong
of slightly tapering rectangular shape with faceted corners, rising to the everted rim with key-fret and shou character roundel borders, the exterior carved with geometric framed panels enclosing scholars and their attendants variously holding lingzhi fungus and floral sprays and bundles, all amidst trees in a mountainous landscape, reserved on a floral honeycomb ground, supported on lappet shaped feet with geometric patterns, the interior and underside black lacquered -- 11 1/16in. (28.1cm.) wide.
