A pair of Chinese bronze crane joss-stick holders and covers, 18th 19th century
each cast as a crane standing on pierced rockwork above crested waves, with a tortoise on the waves holding in its a mouth a lingzhi fungus sprig attached to the rockwork, each crane with a tall arched neck below the head looking upwards with the beak open to reveal the tongue, the feathered body with a pierced cover surtmounted by a ribboned double-gourd joss-stick holder -- maximum 23¾in. (60.3cm.) high. (2)
