Further details
In his catalogue raisonne 'Linocuts of the Machine Age', Stephen Coppel records this rare image as CF35. The main body of the text simply reads 'No impression traced'. Until now, Coppel had only traced its existence from listings in two exhibition catalogues. It is recorded as Cat. No. 42 in the 'Second Exhibition of British Lino-cuts' at the Redfern Gallery, London, 23 July - 23 August 1930, where it is titled 'Love on Ice' and priced at 3 guineas. Its second appearance is in the following year where it was included as Cat. 19 in 'Exhibition of lino-cuts by Claude Flight, R.B.A.' at the Albany Gallery, London, with the same title and price.
This rare offering at auction heralds a unique opportunity for any collector of Grosvenor School Prints.
