The bell top case with pieced frets above glazed panels to sides, the brass-lined front door with floral cast corner frets, set on bracket feet, the brass dial with foliate spandrels to a silvered chapter ring, matted centre with recessed silvered signature plaque Simson/Hertford and date aperture, with strike/silent subsidiary dial to arch, blued steel hands, the eight day five pillars twin chain fusee movement verge escapement, back plate with engraved rococo scolls and pagoda scene, pendulum holdfast, strike on bell
