The dial and movement by Tomlin, London. Circa 1766; the mahogany case later
The white enamel dial with polychrome enamel floral mask, formerly with subsidiary dials for music selection and strike/silent to arch, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, music on nest of nine bells, hour strike on further bell, urn and foliate engraving to back plate signed TOMLIN LONDON, front plate stamped 276 THWAITES, the case later pupose made and incoporating 18th Century mounts; pendulum, key
21 in. (54.5 cm.) high
Thwaites number 276 gives an approximate date of 1766
