A CHINESE HUANGHUALI HORSESHOE BACK ARMCHAIR

The generously proportioned, curved toprail made in five parts using half-lap pressure peg joints and terminating in a curved hook beyond the 'goose-neck' side and front corner posts, the unusually thick c-shaped backsplat plain, the back corner posts continuing through the frame of the soft mat seat to form the back legs, the front legs enclosing the cusped apron in carved relief with curling tendrils
