The arched cresting centred by a stylized shell, above a pair of simulated panelled doors and a sloping fall front, enclosing a red baize-lined interior fitted with drawers, the lower section with three serpentine-fronted drawers, on bun feet, the interior of the super structure and bureau re-lined, the back inscribed in white chalk: Von Spangenberg nach Braunschweig
