Light overall wear, a small tear at one end, selvages frayed, ends with losses

Lot Essay

The inscription cartouche reads; On the order of His Excellency, the Exalted, the most Glorious, the most Generous, Master Ghulam Khan Shihab al-Saltanah. Work of Bakhtiari in the year 1316 (AD 1898). Another carpet, commissioned by the same chieftan can be found later in this sale (lot 214).
