Lot Essay

The over-sized lozenge lattice design is found in a small group of North West Persian carpets woven at the beginning of the 19th century. A very similar carpet was sold in the; Adam Clayton Collection of Rugs & Carpets, Christie's South Kensington, 10 November, 2004, lot 446.
