Lot Essay

This unusual East Anatolian rug has a field design which is normally much more readily associated with the Southern Caucasian region, notably Genje. The structure however indicates an Anatolian provenance. A similar example is published by Werner Brüggemann and Harald Bvhmer, Teppiche der Bauern und Nomaden in Anatolien, Munich, 1982, no.87, pp.282-3.
