A VELVET PRAYER HANGING, PERSIAN, CIRCA 1900
woven with a pair of stylised cypress trees, each flanked by birds beneath an arched niche, the lateral borders with a row of brightly coloured ogival medallions, with inscription woven to the lower edge--71 x 46½in. (180 x 118cm.); a prayer-hanging of silk ikat, woven with a stylised cypress tree flanked by peacocks beneath a polychrome mehrab, within striped borders, backed with printed cotton--Persian, circa 1900; and a silk panel woven with zigzag bands of cypress trees (worn)--17in. x 24in. (43cm. x 61cm.) (3)
