Lot Essay

The first cap is worn by masters of the Khaksar dervishes. See: Richard Gramlish, 'Die Shiitischen Derwischorden Persiens III (Wiesbaden 1981), p5.

The red cap with gul-style decoration is typical of the Cerrahiye Halvetiye, and is generally worn with a green sash. See: N Atasoy, 'Dervis Ceyizi,' (Istanbul 2000), p.84.
