With waisted body, on high flaring foot, the body decorated with applied snake-thread trails, the large flat 'heads' and some of the large applied trails with impressed chequerboard pattern, repaired with some restoration

Lot Essay

Although the technique of snake-thread decoration was mastered in the Rhineland, the process was certainly used in the Near East, primarily along the Syro-Palestinian coast.
