AN EGYPTIAN SILVER AMULET OF ITHYPHALLIC AMUN
THIRD INTERMEDIATE PERIOD, CIRCA 10TH-7TH CENTURY B.C.
The standing god wearing double-plumed headdress and sun disc, mounted, 1¾ in. (4.5 cm.) high; a turquoise glazed composition 'twin frogs' seal amulet; a steatite frog seal, reverse scorpion, Dynasty XVIII/XIX, circa 1550-1186 B.C., ¾ in. (1.9 cm.) long av.; a lapis lazuli amulet of a striding goddess; a turquoise glazed composition tyet-amulet; two small turquoise glazed composition snake amulets, all circa 9th-7th Century B.C.; and six other glazed composition amulets, including a Thoth baboon, Haroeris, a recumbent ram, and haematite Horus falcon, Late Period/Ptolemaic, circa 6th-1st Century B.C., 1¼ in. (3.2 cm.) high max. (13)
