FOUR EGYPTIAN BRIGHT GESSO-PAINTED CARTONNAGE FRAGMENTS
NEW KINGDOM, CIRCA 1290-1085 B.C.
Comprising a scene of the mummiform deceased soul being led by ibis-headed Thoth; another of a green-faced deity wearing disc; another two of the falcon-headed and jackal-headed Sons of Horus, all mounted in two glazed wood frames, 8 x 7 in. (20.4 x 17.7 cm.) max.; another painted cartonnage fragment; a gesso-painted mud fragment decorated with a frieze of uraei wearing sun discs, New Kingdom, circa 1400-1200 B.C.; a blue, white and red gesso-painted anthropoid wood mask, Late Period (664-332 B.C.), 8½ in. (21.5 cm.) high; and a quantity of Christie's and Sotheby's auction catalogues, including the Comtesse de Béhague, Christos G. Bastis, Bunker Hunt, Erlenmeyer, Hirschmann and Schuster collections (a lot)
