A SICILIAN TERRACOTTA FIGURE OF A GODDESS
EARLY 5TH CENTURY B.C.
Seated on a throne, wearing high polos, her peplos fastened by large rosettes on each shoulder, her hair falling in coiling tresses in front, lower legs missing, with mount; and two Magna Graecia terracotta fragmentary architectural relief plaques, one with frontally facing gorgoneion mask within a roundel, depicted grimacing with tongue extended and corkscrew curls, the other with frontal mask wearing elaborate headdress, flanked by scrolls, both mounted, circa 5th Century B.C.
