With nickel-finished lever movement, black matte dial with applied luminescent baton and Arabic numerals, luminescent hands, aperture for date between 4 and 5 o'clock, circular water-resistant-type case, revolving bezel calibrated for 60 minutes, screw-down crown and screw back, case, dial and movement signed, with stainless steel Blancpain bracelet and double deployant clasp

Blancpain was commissioned by the French government in 1953 to develop a diver's writstwatch to be used by its new elite Les Nageurs de Combat. The company produced the "Fifty Fathoms"'watch until the 1980s. In order to celebrate the design and history of the original watch, Blancpain released the limited edition "50th Anniversary Fifty Fathoms" on November 22, 2003. The present watch is number 4 of 150 produced.
