Representing Medieval subjects, the kings and queens modelled in royal regalia, the bishops on the stained side modelled as court jesters, opposing court pages on the white side, the pawns modelled as foot soldiers wearing chain-mail beneath tunics bearing swords and spears
The king -- 4in. (10.2cm.) high; the pawn -- 3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) high
