The kings and queens modelled as Medieval monarchs, the bishops as fous, the knights as horses' heads, the rooks as turrets, the pawns as turned pieces, one side stained brown
The king -- 3¾in. (9.5cm.) high; the pawn -- 1 7/8in. (4.7cm.) high
