Possibly representing the Crimean War, the kings and queens modelled as the Tsar and Tsarina, and the Sultan and Sultana, bishops as Commanders, the knights as horses' heads, the rooks as turrets, the pawns as officers
The king -- 3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) high; the pawn -- 2½in. (6.5cm.) high
