The kings and queens depicting Cupid and Venus versus Bacchus and a Bacchante, the bishops a cupid playing the lute and mandolin versus a satyr with pipes, the knights as Pegasus versus Silenus riding a donkey, the rooks as temples versus cornucopiae, the pawns as cherubs versus satyrs
The king -- 5¼in. (13.5cm.) high; the pawn -- 3 3/8in. (8.5cm.) high
