(1) Jan Gildemeester was a collector of pictures known through Adriaan de Lelie's painting of him and other connoisseurs in the art gallery in his house on the Herengracht, Amsterdam, now in the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam (inv.no. A4100). He was also an amateur draughtsman.
