A SAFAVID BRASS TORCH STAND WITH ADDITIONAL ENGRAVING, IRAN, 16TH CENTURY
Of columnar form with flaring foot and everted rim, the main register with two bands of double zigzag bands dividing panels of engraved cartouches with palmettes on a hatched ground, the upper register with a band of repeating palmette design and the lower with a band of meandering arabesque, an owner inscription to base ... aga baba qanadi shirazi ... and sahib bagur within a cartouche - 11 1/8 in. (28.3cm.) high
