A DAMASCENED MUGHAL DAGGER, INDIA, 19TH CENTURY
With sharply pointed blade of watered steel with thickened flat spine, the beaked hilt with damascened flowers set in latticework, the wooden sheath covered in brown cloth with damascene finial terminating in a ball, the sides with rows of alternating damascene circles and palmettes, and at top a pattern of flowers and scrolls - 15 1/4in. (38.5cm.) long
