THREE BAMIYAN BOWLS AND A DISH, AFGHANISTAN, 11TH/12TH CENTURY
The bowls of conical form on a short foot, the interiors incised with teardrop and scrolling designs with splashes of green and manganese glaze - largest 7 1/2in. (19cm.) diam.; the dish on a high foot with deep centre and gently sloping sides, the rim incised with a delicate scrolling vine in green glaze, manganese splashes to edge - 5 1/2in. (14cm.) diam.
