Lot Essay

Titled lower left margin: 'The Henry Ford', also on the reverse at lower left "The Henry Ford" Edward Hopper 3 Wash. Sq. North New York etching - price $25.

This image came from Hopper's second trip to Gloucester Massachusetts the summer of 1923. The scene is probably a group of locals watching a glorious schooner in a nautical parade during the town's 300th anniversary celebration.
